Linde Vanhoutte Deraedt is a visual artist based in Bruges. Her practice arises from a personal longing for presence and lingers in the echo of disappearance. Guided by grief as a driving force and hopelessness as a muse, she explores through painting what it means to lose one’s grasp, to be left behind in the fragile space between silence and unrest, between remembrance and oblivion.

Her paintings form an intimate archive of all that she wishes to remember, born from a fear of forgetting. To her, painting is both a confrontation and consolation, a discovery as much as a refuge. Through the act of painting, she unravels what lies hidden, challenges her own boundaries, and creates images that render the sensible visible.

Her work moves delicately between what is known, unknown, and what she would rather not know. Each painting becomes a personal visualization of the silence between breaths, inviting people to pause, to feel, and to drift alongside her into the quiet, uncertain terrain of existence.
